Doorsets

The benefits of doorsets and doorkits are now well documented, and independent research has confirmed that cost and value benefits can be achieved from the systems approach to door installation.

Both the door and frame are fully serviced with hinges, mortice latch, or lock, and keep already fitted, and can be delivered together or separately, dependant on the demands of the project. Additionally, doorsets are supplied fully assembled.

Doorsets and doorkits are available in standard construction industry door sizes. Dependant on technical feasibility, many non-standard and special requirements may also be achievable.

Likewise, our standard door range can be supplemented by special designs, and specified products–subject to technical feasibility.

By supplying a factory prepared door and frame package the system can be installed quickly and more simply. On site benefits are significant, and include:

  • Components machined and assembled – removing these operations from site and ensuring factory tolerance performance.
  • Accuracy of machining and assembly – providing a high quality finished operation in service.
  • Delivery scheduled later in the build programme – reduces the likelihood of damage on site prior to handover.
  • Simplified and quicker installation – can be fitted using non-joinery skilled labour.
  • Architects: Selection of doorsets simplifies the design and specification process. Brickwork opening sizes are standardised, allowing drawings to be prepared simply and accurately.
  • Detailed itemisation of material requirements is negated by the selection of doorsets. Information will be required to confirm specification for the project, but once established the number of variable details is considerably reduced.
  • Forward thinking housebuilders and developers have recognised the benefits of doorsets. As well as reducing the number of components to order, and store on site, there is a simplified installation process and a more consistent, higher quality finished product. The systems are consistent with the modern methods of construction currently being adopted.

The integrity of fire doors is assured when hung in appropriate frame with intumescent strips in jambs and head, or top and long edges of the door. Pairs of doors are factory fitted with appropriate seals to meeting stiles. Glazed fire doors are supplied with clear (unwired) fire rated glass as standard. Budget fire doors are supplied with clear wired glass.
